Hi, I’m Max. I am a clinical psychologist and avid nerd about all things mental health. For fun I enjoy reading the latest psychological research findings and listening to way too many therapy podcast episodes.

Humans have relied on the compass for hundreds of years to get us through many treacherous environments, from being lost at sea in fierce storms to bushwhacking through exotic and predator filled jungles. Too often we find ourselves lost in the scary, intense, and overwhelming terrain of our own thoughts and feelings. Unfortunately, we are never given a psychological compass and are often expected to find our way home with little support or guidance. My aim in this blog is to give you a metaphorical compass in the form of skills, knowledge, and ideas with which to more easily navigate the messiness that is the human condition.
